English River Miners coach Derek Sweet-Coulter has been selected by Hockey Canada to represent the SIJHL at the Team Canada West selection camp.
Sweet-Coulter is in his first year as the bench boss of the Miners and will make the trip to Leduc, Alberta next month.
He says he was shocked with the selection and notes it will be an opportunity to promote the SIJHL on a national level.
Sweet-Coulter says he’s going there to learn, soak up the experience and meet new people.
He says it will be a good opportunity to see how Hockey Canada pieces together a team.
