The English River Miners had their chances but couldn’t bury them in a 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Iron Rangers Monday night in Ear Falls.
The Miners went 2-12 on the powerplay and fired 31-shots on net.
Devan Vander Wyk, Richard Dartnall and Ryker Moreau scored for the Miners.
Minnesota recorded only 21-shots on P.D. Melgoza.
The Miners are still tied with Dryden for home ice advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.
In other SIJHL action, the Fort Frances Lakers cruised to a 7-2 win over Wisconsin.
