The Red Lake Miners peppered 57-shots on the Minnesota net Friday night to cruise to a 9-0 win over the visiting Iron Rangers.
Bryce Young and Stratton Pickett each scored a pair of goals, while Michael Di Lullo, Connor Jacobs, Ty Lawrence and Ryan Patterson also found the back of the net.
Red Lake’s Sean Gula also scored for the Miners.
The rematch is Saturday night at the Cochenour Arena at 7:30.
In other SIJHL action, the Thunder Bay North Stars outlasted the Fort Frances Lakers 6-4.
