Miners Prepare For Defending Champion Lakers

The English River Miners wrap up a four game homestand Tuesday night as they face the defending SIJHL champion Fort Frances Lakers.

The Miners dropped their first three games against Minnesota.

However, Coach Derek Sweet-Coulter says he was pleased with his teams effort.

He says they learned a lot from the weekend series and notes the players showed a lot of heart.

Sweet-Coulter says today they will just stick to their systems and he’s expecting a full 60-minute effort.

Game time is 7:00 at the Ear Falls Arena.

This will be the first game for the Lakers.

The Miners feature 17-rookies to start the year.
