Miners Strike On Powerplay To Stun Ice Dogs

For the second straight game, the Dryden GM Ice Dogs allowed three powerplay goals, but unlike last week, they couldn’t recover.

The Red Lake Miners scored twice while being two men up in a 6-3 win Saturday, in a game that was marred by penalties.

Bryce Young scored his first two SIJHL goals, while Michael Di Lullo recorded a goal and three assists.

Ty Lawrence scored in his first game with the Miners, with Dante Tisi and Kyle Uzelman adding singles.

Malcolm Huemmert, Eric Stout and Trey Palermo were credited with the Dryden GM goals.

Red Lake outshot the Ice Dogs 54-48.

Zach Willms earned the win, Carson Murison suffered the loss.

The rematch is next Friday in Dryden.
