The English River Miners took advantage of penalties and at times a flat Ice Dogs team in a 5-3 loss Friday night.
Dominic Blouin powered the Miners attack with 3-assists.
Mark Dryer burned his former team with a goal and an assist, while Richard Dartnall, Ryker Moreau, Jake Staples and Eric Champagne added singles.
Moreau’s goal was scored into an empty net.
Three of the Miners goals were scored on the power-play.
Greg Harney was solid when he needed to be, making 38-saves.
Ryan Hron scored his first SIJHL goal for the Ice Dogs, while Kyle Pouncy and Blake Berg also found the back of the net.
Dryden GM will look to rebound Saturday night at home against Thunder Bay.
