Matt O’Neill was the hero as the English River Miners booked their first ever ticket to the SIJHL final.
O’Neill scored late in overtime as the Miners upset the Thunder Bay North Stars 5-4 Saturday night to take the Best of 7 Semi-Final 4-1.
Michael Di Lullo, Sidney Gladue, Terix Fisher-Kobes and Dwayne Auger added singles.
Michael Lenko stopped 47 shots for the win.
The Miners will now play the Dryden GM Ice Dogs for the Bill Salonen Cup starting next Friday in Dryden.
