Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle is denying there’s a bad climate for mining in the province.
The NDP is claiming investors are staying away from Ontario and many companies are suffering because regulations are preventing any sort of stability in the industry.
Gravelle says all problems aside, everything is looking very positive.
He admits there are challenges but stresses the province is still the top jurisdiction in Canada for mineral exploration and production.
Gravelle notes there are new mines opening up in the next couple of years and there have been 10-new mines created over the past 10-years.
He says the government is working with all sectors to move the industry forward.
