Mining, Forestry And Energy Focus Of KDMA

It’s time to get down to business as municipal leaders are in Dryden for the annual Kenora District Municipal Association Conference.
KDMA President and Red Lake Mayor Phil Vinet says they are taking a different approach this year.
Vinet says three panels will be set up and delegates will have the chance to grill experts from the mining, forestry and energy fields.
The conference runs three days and it opens tonight at the Best Western.
Guest speakers include MPP Sarah Campbell, Senior Mining Engineer Mark Wheeler and Association Municipalities of Ontario President Russ Powers.
Officials with the Ontario Power Authority, Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines will also be in attendance.
Vinet says the gathering will be interactive and informative.
