Don’t expect the Ontario government to give any immediate approval for underground fracking for natural gas.
The controversial practice is already forbidden in four other provinces over environmental concerns.
Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro says a moratorium on the practice isn’t necessary because it would require a change in law.
Mauro says no formal applications have been made asking the government to approve the practice.
