Minister Hoping For Open Communication

The Harper government wants to work through the Build Canada Fund to finance Ring of Fire related projects.
The province has been challenging the feds to match their $1-billion commitment, but Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford still suggests the federal program is the way to leverage money for the giant mining project.
Rickford is also critical of the make up of the Ring of Fire Development Corporation Board of Directors.
He says the Board doesn’t reflect the interests of First Nations, the private sector or the federal government.
Rickford says he’s hoping the province keeps its promise to open the lines of communication between all stakeholders.
