Minister of Foreign Affairs Speaks About Syria

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister isn’t committing any troops to the conflict in Syria.
Speaking in Kenora, John Baird says this country already has taken a lead role in the civil war.
“We’ve been one of the leading countries on sanctions. We work well with our allies. We hope Kofi Annan’s announcement and his comments on Security Council will cause those countries who have been obstructionists, will reflect on their decisions in the days ahead.”
Baird says Canada will continue to provide humanitarian aid to the country but says he has no intention of sending our troops into the war-torn region.
