The new Minister of Natural Resources isn’t commenting on any future job cuts in his ministry.
The provincial government announced in September 2012 they planned to close certain MNR offices, as well as cut positions at some provincial parks in the area.
David Orazietti says he’ll try to balance providing first line MNR service with cost efficiencies.
He says they will continue to ensure that core business principals and obligations are met within the ministry, and they will continue to look at how they can modernize service delivery.
Orazietti says all ministries are facing financial pressures.
He wouldn’t go into the scope of future cuts.
