The Ministry of Labour has launched an enforcement blitz.
The government is targeting businesses that hire mostly seasonal, part-time or temporary work.
With so many new rules coming into place, the Ministry wants to ensure businesses are abiding by the minimum wage, overtime pay, meal breaks and other worker benefits.
Inspections will be taking place until the end of July.
