The Northern Minnesota Moose population is dwindling,
with many animals dying from a mysterious disease.
A team of researchers recently set out to tag moose with
tracking devices and thermometers.
Department of Natural Resources Reserarcher Mark Lenarz
says blood samples, fecal matter and temperature readings
will help paint a clearer picture of the populations
health.

Researchers hope to find ways to prevent the moose from
succumbing to a number of illnesses, including brain worm.
