Mixed Bag for Tourism

The Northwestern Ontario Tourism Association says area border crossings
are reporting more traffic this summer.
However, President Jerry Fisher notes camp owners have been telling him
that they have seen fewer visitors compared to last year.
Fisher says a better marketing plan is needed for this Region.
The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation plans to spend
significant amounts of money marketing the Region in the States next summer.
Fisher says high gas prices, issues at the border and a high Canadian
dollar continue to plague the industry.
