Mixed Reaction from NAN

Nishnawbe-Aski Nation Grand Chief Stan Beardy says his people will continue to work with the Provincial Government to strengthen the proposed Mining Act.
The revamped Act was presented in the Legislature Thursday afternoon.
Stan Beardy says its a good first step.
However, Beardy is concerned that NAN First Nations still don’t have to be notified before a claim is staked and adds the Act stops short of giving them a share of mining revenues.
