Mixed Results For Regional Teams

It was a tough weekend for the ‘AAA’ hockey programs in northwestern Ontario.
The Northwest PeeWee All-Stars lost to the Thunder Bay Kings in two straight games over
the weekend by scores of 8-2 and 4-3.
The Northwest All-Stars also lost in two straight games to the Kings in the Bantam playdowns; 7-1 and 4-1.
Thunder Bay will now represent the region at the provincial bantam and peewee championships.
For the second year in a row, the Kenora ‘AAA’ Midget Thistles have beaten the Thunder Bay Kings for bragging rights in northwestern Ontario.
The Thistles won the Northwest Branch Playdowns yesterday with a 3-1 win over Thunder Bay, winning the best-of-three series two games to one.
The Thistles and the Kings will be back in action in three more weeks as Kenora hosts the Telus Midwest Regional Playdowns.
