MNR Continues To Be Busy

A busy time for Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews.

Six new fires sparked Wedneday including a 30 hectare blaze in the Woodland Caribou Provincial Park.

Currently there are 40 active fires in the northwest, most in the Sioux Lookout and Red Lake districts.

The fire hazard is low to moderate throughout most of the region, but is high in the far North.

Meantime, the MNR continues to provide support out west.

Currently 43 personnel are in Saskatchewan and another 44 are in the Northwest Territories.

At the same time the MNR is also providing equipment to Parks Canada in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
