The Provincial Government is taking action after a scathing Auditor General report on winter highway maintenance.
The Liberals have released the Winter Highway Maintenance Action Plan in response to the report.
The new plan lays out how they can continue to improve winter road conditions.
Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca says a big emphasis this year will be on more collaboration with contractors.
Some of the new additions include using anti-icing liquids before storms and improving the Ontario 511 website by adding live camera images of highways.
Del Duca says the strategy also calls for more equipment such as standalone spreaders in remote, rural and congested urban areas.
