MNR Fire Crews Starting To Come Home

Some of Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources crews are returning home after fighting fires in western Canada.
About 59 firefighters and support staff working in British Columbia and another 13 in Alberta were allowed to come home on the weekend.
There are still 571 personnel in B.C., Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Here at home there was only one new forest fire over the weekend.
The small blaze was sparked on an island in Sunshine Lake in the Fort Frances district.
There are two other active forest fires in the Red Lake and Nipigon districts.
The fire hazard is low in the southern part of the region and moderate to high in the north.
