The forest fire season has arrived and the Ministry of Natural Resources already has its eye on a number of prescribed burns in the coming months.
Burns will be taking place in the Sioux Lookout, Dryden and Kenora districts.
Fire Behaviour Specialist Scott Wiseman says the action is being taken to reduce hazards and habitat restoration.
Wiseman says they burn dead grass and debris in order to eliminate any hazards.
One of the fires planned is a 2,000 hectare one in the Dryden area planned for Fall in the Basket Lake area.
