The Ministry of Natural Resources expects to keep busy during the off-season.
It was a relatively quiet forest fire season, which should result in a smooth transition to winter duties.
Information Officer Jonathan Scott says base maintenance will take up their time and they will also be providing outreach and education programming for students.
Scott adds they will be conducting fire prevention programming and taking part in Far North initiatives.
