City Selects Engineer For Water Intake Project

The City of Dryden has taken the first step to twin the Raw Water Intake Pipe from Wabigoon Lake at Flat Rock to the Water Treatment Plant.

Council has approved a contract for design and consulting engineering services.

Manager of Public Works Blake Poole says they received eight bids.

Poole says proposals ranged in costs from $99,000 to $182,000 and hours of work ranged from 172-hours to 2,000-hours.

The City is going with Keewatin Aski of Sioux Lookout at a cost of nearly $107,000, and 924-hours of work.

Poole says they have extensive experience in these kinds of projects and have worked on numerous projects within the region.

The total project when all is said and done is $1.9-million and is being shared by the City, the Province and the Feds.
