The Ministry of Natural Resources is preparing for an early and busy
start to the forest fire season.
Area managers are meeting in Dryden for a training session.
Regional Fire Duty Officer Jim McDonald says they are meeting about 6
weeks ahead of schedule in order to attack the fires when the snow melts.
McDonald says they are working on equipment repairs, reviewing new
procedures and conducting an inventory of supply’s.
McDonald says they are currently monitoring a number of active fires.
