MNR Spray #1

The Ministry of Natural Resources is taking steps to

control the Jack Pine Budworm infestation in Kenora,

Dryden and Fort Frances Districts.

Spraying will begin in June, and Senior Forestry

Specialist Mike Dawe says they’re focussing on three key

In 2005-2006, the insect caused the defoliation of 450-

Dawe notes the insecticide has been used in previous

years, and is not harmful to humans.
