The Ministry of Natural Resources has approved the 2007
insect pest management program for the Fort Frances,
Dryden and Kenora Districts.
The MNR will start spraying in June, inorder to control
the Jack Pine Budworm infestation.
Senior Forestry Sepcialist Jack Dawe says the spray is
not dangerous to humans.

In 2005 and 2006, the Jack Pine Budworm caused the
defoliation of 450-thousand hectares of forest in
Northwestern Ontario.
