MNR working on new fishing regulations

New fishing regulations in Ontario will be coming into effect in 2007, but they won’t be ready by January 1st.

The Ministry of Natural Resources says they are awaiting
approval from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans before
the new fishing regulations can go into effect.

George Duckworth is a spokesperson for the M.N.R. and says
the regulation changes are a little more extensive than in past years.

N006 Q: …annual basis. (19 secs.)

Duckworth says in the meantime, local residents are urged to hang onto their 2005-2006 fishing summary, until the new regulations go into effect.
