New Fishing Regulations Delayed

The Ministry of Natural Resources says local anglers should hold onto their 2005-2006 fishing regulations summary for one more year.

The province is working on new, more streamlined guidelines, but they won’t be ready until at least the middle of next year.

M.N.R. spokesperson, George Duckworth says the current regulations will stay in place until the new ones are approved by the federal government.

N005 Q: …date yet. (18 secs.)

Duckworth says they will be creating 20 fishing zones across the province, down from the 37 currently in use.
