Modest Tax Hike in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Lookout Council has passed its 2006 budget and residents will
see a minimal tax increase of 2.1%.
The Municipality had an operating surplus of $228,000 to
work with which helped keep the tax rate down.
Council has earmarked an additional $97,000 to the road
rehabilitation budget and will spend $657,000 on road work this year.
The capital budget has been approved at just over $1-million.
