MOE Will Hear an Appeal

The Town of Atikokan is in Court again Wednesday as an Environmental Review
Tribunal will hear their appeal of a Ministry of Environment ruling.
Last November, the Province turned the sewer system over to the
Municipality.
Earlier this year, the MOE came back and said the practice of
diverting sewage into the Atikokan River was unacceptable and the Town must
correct it.
Municipal officials are wondering why the environmental rules were
never enforced when the Province ran the system among other things.
The appeal will be heard in Atikokan.
