Money For Farmers

The Prime Minister’s announcement this week of nearly $1 billion for Canadian cattle producers and farmers is being well received in Northwestern Ontario.
Regional Farmer Kim Jo Bliss says the money will certainly help pay some bills, especially during the upcoming busy period.
The compensation package for each cow depending on size could be as high as $50 a head.
Bliss hopes the cheques will be cut quickly but she says what farmers need most is to have the border reopen to Canadian cattle after the Mad Cow scare
She believes that will happen by the end of June.
