The Chief Medical Officer of Health says he’s disappointed by flu immunization rates among staff at Hospitals and Long Term Care Centre’s this winter.
Stats for each facility range from a low of 73% at Atikokan General Hospital to 89.5% at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield says that is better than last year but not high enough.
Sarsfield wants the Province to bring in mandatory vaccination regulations for all health care workers.
Sarsfield believes rates only increased after he closed a couple of Hospitals in the Region to employees who hadn’t receive a flu vaccine.
