Money For Small Mining Projects

A total of two million dollars is being made available to junior mineral exploration companies doing work in the province.

It’s through the Junior Exploration Assistance Program which is administered by the Ontario Prospectors Association.

Executive Director Garry Clark says it’s a rebate that helps projects that may be in their infancy.

Clark says those are the hardest and most risky to fund, but notes they could lead to major payoffs.

The program offers up to $100,000 for companies so they can offset expenditures.

Clark adds smaller companies benefit the region’s economy, as they tend to hire and spend money locally.
