The jury in the Bruce Montague trial has been excused until Monday.
The defense and crown will be meeting with the judge Friday to figure
out how the speed the trial up.
The Crown still has several witnesses they would like to call to the
stand and Montague’s Lawyer Doug Christie has yet to call any of his
witnesses.
Thursday, the Crown called OPP officer Robert Gagnon to the stand.
Gagnon was in charge of taking documents off of the computer seized
from Montague’s Eaton-Rugby home.
Crown Firearms expert J.P. Menard also testified that even though a
cross-bow found in Montague’s secret room was considered a prohibited
weapon, it would likely not be classified a dangerous weapon because it
didn’t have the power to puncture a thin piece of plywood.
