The Crown continues to cross examine Bruce Montague at
the Kenora court house.
Crown Attorney Peter Keen questioned the former Dryden
gunsmith about some of his police department clients.
50 invoices from the 1990’s to 2004 were entered as
evidence.
Most of the receipts for police departments and retired
officers are dated before Montague’s business license
expired.
There are two invoices that are dated after Montague no
longer had his license, they’re from Dryden Police
Services Kevin Hildebrandt and Terry Spicer.
Montague says he never formally wrote a letter or called
the Dryden Police Service to tell them he was unlicensed.
Montague adds the fact was made known through many news
stories around the time. He says he talked to the
officers when they came to pick up the weapons he had
worked on.
Keen is sugesting its impossible for police to know
every law. Montague believes they should have known
whether or not they were allowed to utilize his services.
