Two Thunder Bay area men are facing fines totalling 4 thousand dollars for moose hunting offences.
Court heard the two men were hunting for cow moose near Aldina Road southwest Thunder Bay where one man shot a cow moose when calf season had already closed.
Court then heard rather than notifying authorities that it was shot by mistake, the two men fled the scene allowing the moose to spoil.
Theodore Aho of Thunder Bay pleaded guilty and was fined 15 hundred dollars for hunting calf moose during the closed season and another 15 hundred for allowing it to spoil.
Bruce Macsemchuk of Kakabeka Falls pleaded guilty and was fined one thousand dollars for making a false statement to a conservation officer.
