More Downtime at Thunder Bay Mill

AbitibiBowater says its Thunder Bay newsprint plant is to be idled yet again, for another 2-weeks starting May 16th.
The latest layoff announcement affects an undetermined number among the 800 employees at the pulp and newsprint mills.
Tuesday’s announcement came less than a week after the newsprint plant restarted following last month’s 2-week shutdown.
A company spokesperson says this month’s shutdown is due to poor market demand.
