Work continues to establish a Solar Park in Dryden.
The City is hoping to construct a 10-megawatt Solar Photovoltaic Park on Hatch’s Field.
Officials are looking over proposals from qualified developers and a report is expected before Council shortly.
The area has the potential to generate up to 1,300 kilowatts of solar energy, which is higher than the world’s largest photovoltaic producer of energy.
Facilities Manager Dan McArthur states in a report that changes to the Provincial Green Energy Act will improve Dryden’s ability to move forward on the project.
