More Federal Funding for Local Communities

The last of the funding from this year’s federal budget to help communities deal with the recession has been doled out.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford toured the riding last week and handed out over $5-million to 12 Municipalities and First Nations.
Rickford says the goal is to help communities deal with the affects of the recession.
Red Lake is accepting $650,000 for a recycling waste transfer station, while Ear Falls is getting $354,000 for a new community health centre.
Wunnumin Lake First Nation is welcoming $588,833 for a small business centre.
Bearskin Lake First Nation is accepting $195,000 to complete a community-owned tourism camp.
