The Northwestern Health Unit may jump right back into the on-going
fluoride debate.
In a letter to the City, the Health Unit warned that they would seek a court
injunction directing the City to expedite fluoridation of the water
supply if Council proceeded with another referendum.
The Health Unit says they were led to believe that fluoride would be
reintroduced before the end of 2007.
Meanwhile, Dryden Councilor Brian Collins is calling the fluoride act a flawed
piece of legislation.
Collins says the Province has put the City between a rock and a hard
place.
Officials feel that the Legislation has no provisions to limit the
timing or number of petitions that can come forward and Collins says the
debate can go on forever.
