43-new forest fires were reported Thursday thanks to a storm system
that moved through the Region in the mid-afternoon.
Air and ground crews responded to the lightning caused fires right
away.
Manitoba also provided support with a quick air attack from Gimli on a
forest fire located about 30-kilometres Northwest of Fort Frances.
Several new fires are expected this weekend and the Ministry of Natural
Resources is reminding the public of the restricted fire zone that is still
in effect.
