The Ministry of Natural Resources stresses its doing the best it can
given the limited number of fire personnel and equipment it has right now.
54-new fires sparked Monday across the Northwest, bringing the
total number of active fires to 242.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says fire fighters can only focus on fires
that pose a threat to lives and property at this point.
Conditions are so dry that even ordinary activities can spark a blaze.
2 of the new fires started were accidentally caused by a man mowing his
lawn and a backhoe digging a trench.
