Are you in favour of the fluoridation of the public water supply?
Dryden residents will be asked that question when they head to the
polls in November for the Municipal Election.
Clerk Colleen Brosseau says everyone who casts a ballot will have a say in the matter.
Brosseau says if voters decide fluoride is needed,
Council will need to pass a resolution to that effect.
The plebiste is required after the Northwestern Health Unit collected
the required number of names on a petition.
Council has rejected the fluoride option twice since 2003 due to
costs and safety concerns for staff at the water treatment plant.
The Health Unit says fluoride prevents tooth decay.
Voters Will Settle Fluoride Debate
