More Forest Fires Crop Up Across Region

There are 65 active forest fires burning in northwestern Ontario.

The number will likely rise as several other reports are now being investigated.

All of the fires are reported in the Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Thunder Bay and Nipigon districts.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry stresses all fires are under control and no problems are anticipated.

The fire hazard is moderate to high across the region, with unsettled weather expected over the coming days.
