Information released indicates that a letter of intent has been signed with an unnamed company.
Wisconsin based Expera Specialty Solutions is being identified as the company, but officials there won’t confirm or deny that it is interested.
Mayor Roy Avis says he has been aware of the deal and area municipal leaders met with senior officials from the company this week.
Resolute spokesperson Xavier Van Chau would not comment on the news, but did say the company remains committed to repositioning the mill and was working with a number of parties to find a viable solution.
The company halted production at the mill in 2012.
