A bonus for forest companies dealing with new U.S. duties on Canadian Softwood Lumber.
The provincial government is promising another $20-million to build and maintain forest access roads in the Dryden, Kenora and Barwick areas.
Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Kathryn McGarry says they have listened to the forest industry and continue to stand by them.
McGarry says the sector told them that more money for forest access roads would help them, noting they spend far more then the province gives them each year to maintain and build new roads.
She says overall the Liberals are spending $74-million on forest access roads across Ontario.
McGarry says the roads are vital for the economy, business and tourism in northwestern Ontario.
