Opposition continues to mount over proposed federal tax reform changes.
Members of the Canadian Taxpayers Association still don’t feel reassured by Finance Minister Bill Morneau’s response to their concerns.
Aaron Wudrick warns the changes may drain our health care system, noting high demand doctors may leave their profession.
Wudrick hopes the Liberals get the message, noting it’s time to go back to the drawing board, calling the current proposals “overkill”.
Canadian Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Perrin Beatty is also worried about the potentially crippling effects the reforms could have on small and medium sized businesses.
Beatty says it’s the farmers, mom and pop shops and entrepreneurs who have invested everything into their businesses and are now worried they won’t be able to succeed.
Beatty adds the government has not answered their concerns and has left them high and dry.
