More pressure on the government to intervene in the battle between northern communities and the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell has raised the issue in the Ontario Legislature, demanding the government work with MPAC to hold off on property assessment changes.
Campbell says the decisions being made are crippling local municipalities.
Finance Minister Charles Sousa has confirmed that his department is reviewing the situation.
Dryden City Manager Joe van Koeverden has stated that the City has been in constant contact with MPAC and government officials about the assessment and its impact on the community.
