The Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters Association is
calling on the Provincial Government to reinstate the
Spring Bear Hunt.
The former Conservative Government felt the hunt was
leaving bear cubs orphaned.
Executive Director Doug Reynolds feels the 1999 decision
to cancel the hunt was based on touchy-feely reasoning,
that was never backed up with research.

have reported more orphaned bears than before 1999.
